NGC 100 သည် မိန် နက္ခတာရာမှ ဂယ်လက်ဆီတစ်ခုဖြစ်ပြီး နေအဖွဲ့အစည်းမှ အလင်းနှစ် ၆၀ မီလီယံနီးပါးခန့် ကွာဝေးသည်။[2] ယင်းအား အမေရိကန်လူမျိုး နက္ခတ္တပညာရှင် Lewis Swift ဆိုသူမှ ၁၈၈၅ ခုနှစ်တွင် ရှာဖွေတွေ့ရှိခဲ့သည်။
