NGC 5002 သည် ခရုပတ်ပုံစံ ဂလက်ဆီဖြစ်ပြီး Canes Venatici ကြယ်စုတန်း၌ တည်ရှိသည်။ ယင်းအား ၁၈၆၅ ခုနှစ်တွင် Heinrich d'Arrest ဆိုသူမှ ရှာဖွေတွေ့ရှိခဲ့သည်။[4] It is also known as MCG 6-29-51, PGC 45728, UGC 8254.[3]
